Afghanistan’s spin sensation Mujeeb Ur Rahman has vaulted upwards in the ICC rankings for ODI bowlers as he has surged two spots to occupy the No. 3 slot in the updated list. Although his side was at the receiving end of an emphatic whitewash in the three-match series against West Indies, Mujeeb impressed with his wily off-spin snaffling five wickets.
The 18-year-old, who made his international debut in 2017, leaped past South African speedster Kagiso Rabada and the No. 1 Test bowler Pat Cummins. Rabada and Cummins now trail the youngster by a margin of 13 and 14 points respectively.
Ace Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the distinguished list as he sits atop the rankings with 797 rating points. Mujeeb is also placed in the top 10 bowlers in T20Is, solidifying his credentials in white-ball cricket.
