The former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir heaps praise on Deepak Chahar who created history against Bangladesh in the 3rd T20I game by picking up the figures of 6-7 which also included a hat-trick. He became the first Indian bowler to achieve this feat.
"I am very happy for him. He is a young boy and has been doing very well since the time he has busted on the international scene and the most important thing is that he has led the attack very well with not much experience. He has the ability and he can be a good asset for India going forward. He can swing the ball and he can bat and he is a brilliant fielder. So, I am really happy for him and I hope that he grows in the future as well," Gambhir told local news outlets.
Gambhir opined that Chahar has the potential to become one of the best bowlers of the Indian cricket team and also pointed out the fact that it will be too early to make any decision on his selection for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia next year.
