Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has signed with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings as the side’s new head coach for the upcoming edition of the competition. Jones will be replacing Mickey Arthur in the coaching role after recently ending his long association with Islamabad United.
The two-time PSL champions Islamabad United, had decided against renewing Jones’ contract leading him to term the scenario as rather disappointing.
Jones, popularly known as Deano in the cricketing fraternity, witnessed great success with Islamabad since he was appointed the side’s coach since the inception of the league.
Karachi Kings have never been able to lift the PSL trophy despite having made it to the playoffs in every season. They boast an abundance of star players in their squad and Jones looked forward to utilizing their resources to the maximum. Deano’s arrival to the Karachi Kings family was also welcomed by the franchise’s president Wasim Akram.
