Former Pakistan skipper and a Test stalwart, Younis Khan enjoys great respect across the country for his prolific red-ball career. The most successful Test batsman also serves as an inspiration for many budding cricketers and the same is true for the opening batsman Shan Masood who considers the Mardan born as a ‘fatherly figure’ for him.
The 30-year old cricketer revealed that he always sits in awe of Younis Khan because of what he offers to all the young cricketers. Shan further revealed that he got batting tips from the batting maestro before coming to Australia, with which he is eager to record an impressive show down under.
“I always had a special understanding with him. He is not as old as my father, but holds the same amount of respect for me. Even now, he advised me a lot before leaving for Australia. He is our greatest batter and it has been an absolute privilege to learn from him all these years,” said by Shan Masood while sharing his views on the only Pakistani batsman to score over 10,000 Test runs.
