India’s veteran cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has switched his allegiance to Delhi Capitals for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahane played over 100 matches for Rajasthan Royals and also captained the team but he will now be moving to Capitals for the 13th IPL season.
Rahane’s long association with Royals saw him represent the side for two separate stints – from 2011 to 2015 and later in 2018 and 2019. Rahane will be joining Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant to form a strong core of Indian players available for the Capitals.
"I am extremely honoured to welcome one of India's most stellar and consistent batsmen, Ajinkya Rahane, to the DC family. I am sure Rahane's wealth of experience, and familiarity with the conditions will help Delhi Capitals go a long way in IPL 2020," Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal was quoted as saying.
