It has been a busy few days in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with several high-profile trades taking place between the franchises as they prepare for next year’s edition of the lucrative T20 tournament. Amidst this backdrop, New Zealand speedster Trent Boult has signed up for defending champions Mumbai Indians, jumping ship from Delhi Capitals.
Boult, who was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup, will be paired up with Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah to share the new ball for the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. Boult and Bumrah, who are ranked No. 2 and No. 1 respectively among ODI bowlers, are expected to develop a lethal bowling partnership that will surely excite all Mumbai fans.
Bumrah is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a stress fracture and will soon be fit and back in the national fold. Boult is presently part of his side’s Test squad for the home series against England and expressed his eagerness to wreak havoc alongside Bumrah.
