Pakistan’s teenage pace sensation Naseem Shah made headlines after recording an elite bowling spell against Australia A in the tour game. While he claimed only one scalp, the express bowling outing garnered admiration from everyone as Naseem regularly troubled the Kangaroos with his brutal pace and bounce.
Recently, Naseem’s prowess was lauded by the former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis who currently serves as the bowling coach of the national team. The 47-year old went on to compare Naseem Shah’s bowling action with the great Australian quick Dennis Lillee. Waqar believes that the 16-year old knows the art of bowling on bouncy tracks, which could prove really handy against the likes of David Warner and Steve Smith.
“He possesses a very strong action and because of that, he reminds me of Dennis Lillee actually. For sure, he’s not as big as Dennis. But, when he gets it right, he’s very handful. Naseem is very talented and I am looking forward to see him bowling against Australia,” said by Waqar Younis while inspecting the skills of Naseem Shah.
