Pakistan kicked off their journey in the Emerging Asia Cup tournament with a thumping victory against Afghanistan. Winning the toss, the blue team decided to bowl first only to see the boys in green recording an elite bowling outing against them. Pakistan dismissed Afghanistan for a paltry total of 138 runs, which was gunned down easily inside 36 overs.
The rising all-rounder sensation Mohammad Mohsin Khan proved to be the chief architect of Afghanistan’s demolition as he claimed 4 wickets while conceding only 30 runs. Picking key wickets of Shahidullah and skipper Samiullah Shinwari and then removing the Afghan tail quickly, the 19-year old grabbed attention while giving a good account of his prowess.
Mohsin was absolutely delighted to contribute valiantly to help Pakistan start the 50-over competition on a winning note. For a spectacular show with ball, he was awarded the player of the match award. Moreover, the Charsadda born vowed to keep working hard and help the green team win the ongoing 8-team tournament.
