Pakistan vs Australia 2019

Haris Sohail’s shoddy form continuous in Australia

Haris Sohail, the middle-order batsman of Pakistan, has been one of the most consistent performers of the side. Particularly after departure of the veteran duo of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, Haris is seen as a key player to control things in the middle phase of the innings.

However, these days, Haris is going through a torrid patch in Australia. After accumulating only 18 runs in 3 T20Is at an average of 6, his lack of confidence is getting reflected in the red-ball games. The 30-year old scored only 22 runs in the 2 innings of the first tour game, and nothing changed significantly for him in the second match.

With Pakistan losing 2 wickets for 72 runs, it was an ideal chance for the dexterous batsman to show his prowess and get back among runs. However, he failed to counter the leg-spin of Lloyd Pope and was dismissed only for 2 runs. Ahead of the all-important two-game Test series against the Kangaroos, Haris’ shoddy run has given Pakistan a lot of headache as they really need their key player to fire if they are to beat Australian down under.
