The awe-inspiring Indian batsman Virat Kohli enjoys an ever swelling legacy in the International cricket. Redefining the notion of consistency, his failure comes across as a headline for the cricketing world. An infrequent episode of this series was on display in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh at Indore as the Indian skipper failed to contribute runs in his team’s total.
Coming to bat at 115-2, Virat was out in the middle when India looked in a comfortable position. Therefore, it was expected to see the run machine doing his thing. However, an in-swinging bowl delivered by pacer Abu Jayed came in sharply to bamboozle the 31-year old cricketer by trapping him in front of the wicket.
Initially, umpire didn’t give it out. Nevertheless, Bangladesh went for a review to gain a massive wicket. This was only the third instance of Virat getting out in home Tests without scoring any run. Two other instances before this event were recorded against Australia in 2016-17 and Sri Lanka in 2017-18. Overall, this was the 10th duck and only the 4th silver duck for Delhi born in the red-ball cricket.
