Several Pakistani players were snapped up during the Bangabandhu Premier League (BPL) draft for the forthcoming edition of the competition. A total of seven Pakistani cricketers are expected to participate in the revamped league later this year with a few usual names in high demand among the franchises.
Dhaka Platoon have acquired the services of three major stars in Pakistan cricket – the undisputed T20 legend Shahid Afridi, explosive power-hitter Asif Ali and express paceman Wahab Riaz. Mohammad Amir, who recently quit Test cricket to focus on white-ball cricket, will turn out for Khulna Tigers.
The likes of Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Irfan and Imad Wasim have also bagged contracts with BPL teams and will get a chance to showcase their talent on the glitzy platform. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on December 11.
