Senior Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik continues to be a much sought after name in the realm of T20 cricket. Malik, who announced his retirement from ODIs during the World Cup in England and Wales, is currently engaged in a stint with Jozi Stars in the Mzansi Super League (MSL).
Known for being a T20 freelancer, it came as a surprise to many recently when the 37-year-old’s name was removed from the BPL draft at the eleventh hour. It was later revealed that Malik himself pulled out of the BPL draft for an unspecified reason and he was replaced with British-born Bangladeshi Robin Das in the list.
Malik has previously represented the Comilla Victorians, one of the most successful sides in the history of BPL. His absence in the upcoming edition deprives the franchise of a seasoned pro like Malik.
