A string of stellar performances from Indian paceman Mohammed Shami has allowed him to move into the top 10 for Test bowlers. Shami has risen to a career-best No. 7 in the updated ICC rankings following his bowling heroics in the first Test against Bangladesh.
The 29-year-old registered seven wickets for just 58 runs across the two innings as India achieved a massive win by an innings margin. Shami now possesses 790 rating points, the third-highest ever for an Indian pacer.
Shami’s ability to seam the ball both ways and especially mastering the art of reverse swing, has made him a lethal pacer. While pitches in India are thought to aid spin, Shami’s sizzling spells are debunking the long-held belief.
