After being defeated in the first game of the series, Afghanistan registered a sensational comeback in the three-game T20I series against West Indies. In the final game of the series, Afghanistan batted first to post a competitive score of 156 runs and then their bowlers joined the party to give the unit a memorable 2-1 series victory.
In reply, the maroon team looked in trouble right from the start as they kept losing wickets after regular intervals. Wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope batted well to counter all the trouble, thus recording a half-century. However, his sluggish innings saw him consuming 46 balls to contribute 52 runs to the team’s total. Moreover, he didn’t receive any support from the other batters as West Indies fell short by 30 runs.
All this kept West Indies far away from challenging Afghan bowlers who bowled brilliant lines to keep some gigantic hitters under control. Earlier, the top-order batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz mustered a stylish innings of 79 runs to allow Afghanistan reach a fighting score in the game which was played in Lucknow.
