Sri Lanka is all set to tour Pakistan for a historic tour comprising two Tests in December scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi. Having recently travelled to the country to participate in six limited-overs fixtures, the return of the Sri Lankan team is a huge boost for Pakistan cricket since these games will be considered as part of the World Test Championship.
Shedding light on the forthcoming Sri Lanka tour, Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq underscored the importance of hosting Test cricket at home instead of the neutral venue of the UAE.
“We are looking forward to hosting Sri Lanka. I always believed that Pakistan is a top cricketing nation. People love cricket here and want to experience international cricket live at home. Top teams touring Pakistan will be great for the country and international cricket as it pulls crowds and inspires youngsters,” he told reporters ahead of the first Test against Australia.
