Pakistan beat India in the semi-final of the Emerging Asia Cup

In the first semi-final of the U23 Emerging Asia Cup, Pakistan triumphed over India in a nail-bitter. The men in green batted first and scored 267-7 in their 50 overs. Opening batsman Omair Yousuf top-scored for Pakistan with 66 runs.

Haider Ali also made use of the opportunity and scored 43 making a strong opening stand with Yousuf. Saif Badar (47) and Rohail Nazir (35) were the other notable performers for Pakistan U23. Shivam Mavi, Hrithik Shokeen and Saurabh Dubey took 2 wickets each for India U23.

In reply, Sanvir Singh (76) and the captain Sharath BR (47) made sure that they make full use of the conditions and both of them laid a wonderful partnership at the top of the order.

However, things took a dramatic turn when wickets tumbled after the 40th over. With the run out of Sanvir Singh, Pakistan bowlers opened the gates for a massive collapse as the men in blue couldn’t manage the pressure of a semi-final.

In the end, 8 runs were required off 6 balls and Amad Butt delivered for his captain Rohail giving Pakistan fans a much-needed joy. Mohammad Hasnain and Saif Badar took 2 wickets each for Pakistan U23.
