The Test stalwart of Pakistan Asad Shafiq played with a lot of maturity and sense in the 1st Test match against Australia at the GABBA. After getting a solid start by the openers, the 2nd session brought Australia back in the game as they took 5 wickets for less than 4 runs.
Asad Shafiq, on the other hand, stood there and stayed at the wicket to rebuild the innings for Pakistan. Mohammad Rizwan (37) and Yasir Shah (26) helped him in making a few crucial partnerships and the senior pro went on to take Pakistan’s score to 200.
Asad Shafiq scored 76 off 134 balls and played the role of a senior player beautifully. Pakistan ended their innings on 240 and the Kangaroos are going to start their innings tomorrow.
