England’s newest T20 Phenom, Tom Banton took the cricketing world by storm with his prolific outings in the country’s Vitality Blast earlier this summer. Banton had ended as the tournament’s second-leading run-getter behind Babar Azam and earned a maiden call-up to the national side.
Carrying on his explosive form in the shorter format, Banton has now made his presence felt in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 with a terrific innings in the match against Karnataka Tuskers.
Banton blasted 80 from just 28 deliveries with a strike rate a shade under 300 as he unleashed a breathtaking display of pristine striking.
The incredible knock from the right-hander was his second half-century of the tournament, having already accumulated 53 from a similar number of deliveries on the weekend.
Banton’s blistering effort overshadowed all other batters in the game as the second-best score in the match was merely 25. He thus helped Qalandars achieve a much-needed win by 32 runs.
