Khalil’s tragic death leaves Pakistani cricketing fraternity in sorrow

The poor security conditions in the iconic city of Karachi aren’t a new phenomenon in Pakistan. Time and again, street crimes have taken place robbing people of their valuable belongings. However, this time the tragic events led to the breaking of horrible news.

Karachi’s budding cricketer and wicket-keeper batsman Khalil-Ur-Rahman was shot down in an attempt to snatch his mobile. At a place called ‘Old Sabzi Mandi’, Khalil was caught by people who tried to snatch his phone. Aiming to counter them, Khalil showed resistance to gain an upper hand.

However, those barbaric souls went forward to shoot him for a petty thing like a mobile phone. The player was a part of the famous Rashid Latif Cricket Academy and his death saddened the former Pakistan captain to the core.

Moreover, domestic cricketers, who knew Khalil, were also found sharing the pain as they extended their prayers to the departed soul. Khalil’s family was devastated to see this news as they are still not able to make their peace with this horrendous event.
