The 16-year old speedster, Naseem Shah announced himself at the International arena during the 1st Test match against Australia at the Gabba. The right-arm fast bowler picked up 1 wicket and gave away 68 runs in his 20 overs spell. But the highlight of his performance was his brute pace and consistency.
However, during his spell Naseem had a few niggles and fitness concerns. Ramiz Raja, the former Pakistani batsman, feels that Naseem Shah’s selection in the Test matches should subject to his fitness.
He feels that the 16-year old might not have the body muscles required to withstand the burden of Test cricket. He said that Naseem should be selected for the format once his stamina and fitness allow it. Currently, the 16-year old is too young to tolerate the tedious responsibility of Test format. Nevertheless, Pakistan has found a great bowler in shape of Naseem Shah.
