Pakistan recently clinched the Emerging Teams Asia Cup trophy following their clinical win over Bangladesh in the final. A lot of sensational prospects have emerged from Pakistan’s victorious squad but Mickey Arthur is keen on seeing Saud Shakeel and Amad Butt graduating to the national side soon.
The former Pakistan head coach believes Saud and Amad are the two players Pakistan dearly needs to improve their performances on the international arena. Saud, who averages 47.69 in List A cricket, usually bats in the top-order and captained the Pakistan Emerging Team’s squad. Meanwhile, Arthur was impressed by Amad’s all-round skills and predicted he would be a great player in the future.
“Two names that jump out for me from the Emerging Squad are Saud Shakeel who’s going to be a really good player and Amad Butt is potentially the all-rounder Pakistan are looking for, hard-hitting batsman towards the back end, quick enough with the ball and a gun fielder,” he said.
