The former Aussies’ batsman George Bailey is all set for the change of the duties as he will become part of the 3-men national selection committee. The right-handed batsman will join hands with Trevor Hohns and Justin Langer, who is also currently serving as the Head Coach of Australia.
Bailey will replace Greg Chappell in the selection team as he quit his job after the conclusion of the Ashes series. Bailey, who is an active domestic player, is currently playing for Tasmania in the ongoing Sheffield Shield. George Bailey has impressive credentials in the T20 format and has been a highly respected figure in Australia cricket. He led Australia in two World Cups and did exceptionally well as a captain in his tenure.
Bailey will provide the selection committee with an extra edge as he is well-aware of the top performing players in the circuit. Moreover, he will serve as a bridge between the current Australian players and the selection committee.
