England’s all-rounder Moeen Ali is determined to make a strong come back in the longest format of the game. The all-rounder was dropped from England’s Test squad after his miserable outing in the 1st Test match of the Ashes 2019 at the Edgbaston where he only managed to score 4 runs in two innings and picked up 3 wickets for 172 runs in the game.
After which Moeen took a break from Test cricket and made himself unavailable for the selection. Earlier this month, England’s Test captain Joe Root hinted that Moeen might be back in the side for the Test series against South Africa. Now, Moeen himself has cleared his stance for the Test availability.
"I am not thinking about that too much at the moment, but the idea is to get back into the Test side at some point," Moeen said. "I've had a bit of a break from Test cricket which has been nice and I am just enjoying my cricket at the moment and we will see how it goes in the future”.
"A break like this is a good idea in my mind as the pressure of Test cricket is always intense and international cricket is very hard as it is, especially when you are playing all three formats”, he added.
