It is hard to describe the prowess of West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell in a single sentence, but using the word incredible for him could be a good start. The explosive all-rounder, a specialist of white-ball cricket, contains a plethora of experience which is set to get further swelled with him becoming a part of the forthcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The services of the 31-year old cricketer have been acquired by Rajshahi Royals who will be led by the Pakistani veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik. Playing 306 T20 games, Russell has scored over 5000 T20 runs at a monstrous strike-rate of 170.02. Not only that, him picking 276 wickets in the shortest format of the game at an average under 26 speaks volume of the quality he adds to any line-up.
While the drafts for the 20-over competition took place on November 17, teams were allowed to add two more foreign stars. Exercising this right, Rajshahi improved the strength of their team with Russell’s signing. The upcoming edition of the BPL gets underway from December 11 in Dhaka.
