It is a hard task to cast a doubt on the quality of the Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah who has provided the country with many moments of joy. However, Australia has remained a tough place for him. Traditionally, the spin wizard struggled there as he has only 12 wickets in 4 Tests down under. Even in the first match of the two-game Test series against Kangaroos, Yasir conceded 205 runs to claim 4 wickets.
This led many to criticize the red-ball specialist as they are annoyed by Yasir’s consistent poor shows in Australia. However, the Swabi born has recently received the support of former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is currently participating in the ongoing edition of the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Sharing his views in a press conference, the wicket-keeper batsman admitted that Yasir has failed to show his prowess in Australia. But, he immediately added that the leggie is Pakistan’s number one bowler, who played pivotal role in scripting memorable victories for the country. It remains to be seen if this backing enables Yasir to end the tour of Australia on a high note.
