Steve Smith routinely punishes bowling attacks around the world in Test cricket. The right-handed batsman’s glowing record in the longest format continues to climb an upward trajectory with his recent batting heroics in the drawn Ashes series in England particularly grabbing the spotlight.
While Smith unleashes destruction with the bat, the 30-year-old admitted he suffers from sleepless nights during matches. Smith claimed to have a lot of anxiety during five-day matches, which takes a toll on his sleeping patterns in Test cricket.
"I am an awful sleeper. In Test matches, I reckon I average 15 to 20 hours throughout the whole five days. It's all positive stuff - who's bowling at me, where I am going to hit them, how I'm going to play, where I'm going to look to score,” he said.
