Dravid complains about lack of Indian coaches in IPL

Indian cricketing great Rahul Dravid believes Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are not doing the right thing by failing to employ local coaches. The IPL, since its inception, has become the foremost T20 league in the world with its quality surpassing all other competitive T20 tournaments.

Dravid said Indian coaches were as good as their foreign counterparts and should get the opportunity to be involved with IPL teams. He believed this would add great value to Indian cricket and overall lead to the polishing of local talent.

"It does sometimes disappoint me when a lot of our boys don't get opportunities as assistant coaches in IPL. Honestly, there are so many Indian players in the IPL, there's so much of local knowledge [among our coaches]. I feel a lot of teams could actually benefit from using a lot of our Indian coaches in the IPL,” Dravid said.
