Babar Azam had moments of sheer brilliance in the two-Test series against Australia. A lot was expected from the young batting sensation and he delivered with a fantastic century in the first game, following it up with a fluent 97 in the match at the Adelaide Oval.
However, Babar had a couple of failures across the four innings as well and both times fell to the guile of right-arm paceman Josh Hazlewood.
With Pakistan down in the doldrums and requiring something special from the 25-year-old in the second innings in Adelaide, Babar nicked behind to Tim Paine off the bowling of Hazlewood for just eight runs.
This worsens Babar’s record against Hazlewood as the speedster has now dismissed him a total of six times in Test cricket.
The star batter entered the series having gotten out to Hazlewood four times during his previous tour to Australia but his woes against the 28-year-old failed to diminish. Babar averages just 11.5 in the face of Hazlewood’s quality bowling.
