Pakistan’s toothless bowling display in the two-match series against Australia has moved legendary skipper Ricky Ponting to make scathing remarks regarding the tourists. Pakistan were blown away by a rampant Australian batting performance as the hosts successively racked up mammoth totals.
"They (Pakistan's bowlers) have been poor... their bowling attack is terrible really for a Test attack. I'm not sure I have seen a worse bowling attack on our shores in a long time,” Ponting said as he laid bare his brutal assessment.
Pakistan’s bowling attack lacked in experience as chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq decided to go with three teenage pacers in the squad. Ponting also complained about resting 16-year-old Naseem Shah for the second game right after making his debut since his replacement Muhammad Musa was rendered completely ineffective.
“I still can't understand why the 16-year-old hasn't played this game, Naseem. And they go with another guy (Musa) who has played seven first-class games and just doesn't look to be a Test match bowler," he added.
