Like all the other Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, Islamabad United have named their retentions for the upcoming season of the 20-over competition. Luke Ronchi, a star performer of the tournament, stayed with the 2-time defending champions as they shifted him to the gold category from his original category which was diamond.
This is so because the wicket-keeper batsman has been appointed as the mentor of the side, which is likely to be coached by the former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.
For his new role, the belligerent striker has shown great interest as he believes that Islamabad has a terrific unit filled with a plethora of talented cricketers.
Ronchi shared his feelings using his official Twitter handle as he promised to give his best in the highly celebrated domestic T20 tournament of Pakistan. In his last cricketing action, the 38-year old looked off-color as he struggled to make an impact in the third edition of the T10 League. However, it remains to be seen how he fares in the PSL 5.
