After feasting on the unprofessionalism of Pakistan, Australia is set for a tougher challenge as New Zealand is scheduled to lock horns against Kangaroos for a three-game Test series, followed by as many ODIs. For this reason, Cricket Australia has announced a squad comprising of 13 players.
From the unit which played against Pakistan, there has only been one change as the opening batsman Cameron Bancroft faced the axe without even playing a game. In his place, paceman James Pattinson has been brought back in the national team after missing the red-ball games against the boys in green.
Head selector Trevor Hohns is of the view that the best available squad has been picked for the challenge against Kiwis. Moreover, the 65-year old is confident to see the Australian team stretching their glorious form in red-ball cricket.
The Test squad consists of the following names:
Tim Paine (captain), Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Joe Burns, Michael Neser, Matthew Wade, James Pattinson, Marnus Labuschange and Travis Head
