England’s Test captain Joe Root opened up about the performance of England’s world cup hero, Jofra Archer, in the Test series against New Zealand.
Archer failed to produce productive results during England’s outing in New Zealand. The right-arm fast bowler could not test the technique of its world-cup final’s counter-parts.
He picked up only 1 wicket in the 2-match series. Root talking about Archer said, “I think he has found that Test cricket is hard and you have to keep backing up these performances over and over again. You can sometimes bowl extremely well and get no reward. But he has to keep wanting to learn”.
“To stay resilient mentally and physically as well because these conditions can wear you down. I expect him to bounce back quite strongly from something like this because he is a fast learner”, Root further added.
