Azhar Ali, Pakistan’s captain responded to questions asked by Mickey Arthur, the former Pakistani head coach about his batting and captaincy. Azhar said that, as the captain, he wants to leave the legacy behind him and build the team for the future. “I have been playing Test cricket for a long time and now it is the time that I should leave a legacy behind and build a culture that can take Pakistan team forward and for that, I need to perform”, Azhar quoted.
“I will take it as a challenge with young bowling line-up and give Pakistan the best I can”, Azhar said. Mickey asked Azhar about his personal batting form and told him that his innings at the Gabba were one of the best he has seen from the Pakistani Test captain.
“You (Mickey) were here when I had the best series in Australia. I felt really good while playing at the Gabba but could not convert it into big figures”, Azhar said. Pakistani captain did not have a good series in Australia as the captain and as the batsman.
