Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has grabbed the headlines with a rather bold statement on ace Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah. The top-ranked ODI bowler is regarded as one of the most fearsome pacers in world cricket currently but Razzaq has discarded the 25-year-old as a “baby bowler”.
Many cricket pundits have lauded Bumrah’s ability to dart in searing yorkers at a high pace, however Razzaq is of the opinion that if he were still active in cricket, he would have no problems negotiating the bowling of the Indian.
Razzaq, known for his reputed power-hitting skills, claimed to have faced far more dangerous bowlers during his playing days and hence deemed Bumrah as an innocuous pacer.
"I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him. After having faced world-class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. The pressure would have been on him,” Razzaq said in an interview with Cricket Pakistan.
