Pakistan is ready to host Test cricket on its shores for the first time since the horrific terrorist attack that targeted the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009. The two matches against Sri Lanka, part of the World Test Championship, are scheduled to be conducted in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently confirmed the umpire and match referee appointments for the Test fixtures.
The elite group of match officials comprises of Michael Gough, Richard Kettleborough, Richard Illingworth, Bruce Oxenford and Joel Wilson.
Meanwhile, Pakistani umpires Shozab Raza and Ahsan Raza will also be part of the panel. It is pertinent to note here that Gough and Wilson have previously toured Pakistan for the ODI series that took place against Sri Lanka in September.
