Misbah-ul-Haq appointed as the head coach of Islamabad United

Misbah-ul-Haq, who led Islamabad United to two title victories in Pakistan Super League as captain, is now appointed as the head coach of the franchise.

Islamabad United announced that Misbah will be handling the head coach position and will be supported by the bowling coach (Saeed Ajmal), player mentor and assistant coach (Luke Ronchi), and Physio (E. Alcott).

Misbah is currently serving Pakistan as the head coach and the chief selector of the team. The veteran Pakistani batsman was given the dual workload after the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Misbah was Pakistan’s most successful Test captain and led the Green team to the number 1 position in the ICC Test rankings.

Moreover, his captaincy record in Islamabad United was extremely good as well. However, the lack of coaching might become a hindrance for the former Pakistan’s captain in the upcoming PSL.
