Northern have made their way into the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy where they will be taking on table-toppers Central Punjab. The Nauman Ali-led Northern defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a nerve-wracking contest, triumphing on the final day by 39 runs.
Northern were guided by a spirited bowling effort spearheaded by skipper Nauman, who claimed four wickets as they defended a paltry 245-run target.
Half-centuries from Israrullah and Zohaib Khan threatened to take the contest away from Northern all-round performances from the bowlers consigned KPK to a narrow loss.
Northern began the competition badly as they fell to two defeats and languished in the bottom half of the points table for a majority of the season before regrouping and elevating their standards. Their match against KPK was a must-win game for both sides deciding the second spot in the final.
