Islamabad United, one of the top-performing franchises in the history of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has operated really smartly in the recently concluded draft for the PSL 2020. Coming into the event with 2 vacant platinum spots, Islamabad opted to hire the South African duo of Dale Steyn and Colin Ingram, thus filling the gaps perfectly.
Steyn’s pace would be aided by Rumman Raees and Faheem Ashraf, while Ingram’s prowess will be complemented by Asif Ali and Hussain Talat in the middle-order of Islamabad.
Both players are always in high demand when it comes to T20 cricket. They joined local all-rounder Shadab Khan to complete the platinum rooster of two-time champions.
Without a shadow of doubt, Islamabad has improved their strength to a great extent as they were in need of a leading pace-option along with a strong middle-order batsman.
Colin Ingram, who struck a memorable century last year against Quetta, is known for his belligerent hitting, while Steyn definitely doesn’t sit in need of any introduction. After picking a fantastic squad, Islamabad looks good to win their third PSL trophy. The fifth season of the highly adored 20-over competition will hit Pakistan in February.
