Pakistan’s teenage pace sensation Naseem Shah has been included in the side’s Under-19 squad for the World Cup to be held in South Africa next year. Naseem recently grabbed the headlines for his ability to generate high speeds in his Test debut in Australia where he made his international debut.
The 16-year-old could claim only one wicket in his maiden outing in Test cricket but he has been touted by many experts as one pacer to look out for in the future. He will prove to be vital to the two-time U19 World Cup champions’ campaign in the showpiece event.
Pakistan’s squad will be led by Rohail Nazir, who was one of the top performers during the team’s victory in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Meanwhile, opening batsman Haider Ali has been named his deputy.
