Wasn’t possible to quit cricket as it is our bread and butter: Fawad Alam

Fawad Alam has been finally selected for the National side after being ignored for many years. The left-handed batsman is making a comeback in the National side after almost a decade. This is a big moment for the 34-year old as he will be playing the Test match in front of the home crowd.

Fawad was asked whether he wanted to quit cricket in despair when he was not selected. To which he replied, “I won’t lie but you do feel like quitting when you are not being selected. Performing well consistently is a blessing.”, he said.

“And when it comes to quitting you cannot even think about it since cricket is our bread and butter. Our families depend on it and so you are a little disappointed when you are not selected. But you have to look forward and I always try to do this. The only motivation was that the more you perform the more you keep knocking at the door”, Fawad concluded.
