Sameen Rana defends Lahore Qalandars’ selections for PSL 2020

Lahore Qalandars, despite being one of the most exciting franchises of the cricketing world, is found among the worst performers in the history of T20 cricket. In the four season of the highly celebrated Pakistan Super League (PSL), the franchise finished dead last and fans don’t see any other position for them after seeing their picks for the fifth edition of the 20-over competition.

However, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and team manager of Lahore Qalandars, Sameen Rana came forward to defend their selection policy. Sameen said that the impression is wrong and Lahore has capable players to turn the tables in the upcoming edition of the darling T20 league of Pakistan.

Highlighting the names of Sohail Akhtar, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Faizan, Farzan Raja and Dilber Hussain, he added that Lahore has picked five of its own products as the tournament should see teams promoting the local talent. Moreover, he was surprised to see the reaction on the announcement of having Sohail Akhtar leading the squad. In all the previous editions of the 6-team event, Lahore selected many major names without tasting success. It remains to be seen how things fare for them in the PSL 2020.
