Shashank Manohar, the chairman of ICC, has indicated that he won’t seek an extension in his stint. He has highlighted that he might step down as the ICC Chairman after being elected on a 2-year term last year.
"I am not interested in continuing for another two-year term," Manohar was quoted as saying. Majority of directors have requested me to continue but I have told them that I do not wish to do so. I have been the chairman for nearly five years. I am very clear; I do not want to continue from June 2020. My successor will be known next May." He added.
Manohar first became the ICC chairman in 2015, after his predecessor N. Srinivasan was removed following a spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League. Since then, he has handled the responsibility of the International Cricketing Body.
