Decimating Pakistan in their backyard, Australia are hopeful to do more of the same in the ongoing three-game Test series against New Zealand. However, the cricket pundits are anticipating a thrilling clash as both the units are loaded with extremely capable cricketers who have what it takes to change the face of the game at any moment.
For this red-ball cricketing action, former cricketers from both the countries picked their favorite to win this Test series. Former Australian great Ricky Ponting believes that while New Zealand is going to register a tougher challenge, but the quality of Australia is good enough to win the series. Therefore, he predicted Kangaroos to win the series 2-0.
On the other hand, former Kiwi skipper and wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum disagreed with Ponting as he backed his country to win the series 2-1. Australia and New Zealand are placed at the 2nd and 3rd spot of the points table of the highly celebrated ICC World Test Championship and the running cricketing action provides them a good chance to take the lead.
