Bangladesh selector Habibul Bashar has asked the left-arm speedster Mustafizur Rahman to develop a variety in his bowling arsenal since the latter has become too predictable.
Mustafizur has been experiencing a deep slump in form over the past few months and his lackluster showing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) game between Cumilla Warriors and Rangpur Rangers has added to the woes.
Addressing the problems faced by Mustafizur, Bashar complained about the 24-year-old not using enough yorkers to threaten the opposing batsmen. He felt Mustafizur desperately needed to rediscover his mojo, which initially made him a difficult bowler to deal with.
"It is a concern because we are missing the Mustafizur (we know) for the past one year. There is no yorker in Mustafizur's bowling while he had wonderful yorkers before. He is becoming predictable. This is my concern. Batsmen are able to predict what he is going to do,” Bashar was quoted as saying in his interaction with reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
