Test cricket returned to Pakistan after a long gap of 10 years but the persistent rain has ruined plans of many fans in the country.
After Sri Lanka’s skipper Dimuth Karunaratne got out on the first day after scoring a half-century, another young middle-order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva stood up for his team and played a vital role in rebuilding the innings for his side.
Dhananjaya is currently batting on 87* and he has already scored 13 boundaries in his innings. Silva’s innings was full of some beautiful cover and straight drives.
After consistent rain for almost two days, it was not easy for a batsman to come and settle himself on the tricky pitch of Rawalpindi cricket ground. The Islanders have scored 282-6 in their first innings so far and de Silva is looking to bring his 6th Test match ton in the ongoing match.
