Bangladesh’s wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been included in the auction for the upcoming edition of the highly celebrated Indian Premier League (IPL). He joined Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan and Taskin Ahmed as the 7 players would hope to get snapped up for India’s biggest T20 carnival.
Initially, the former skipper of Bangladesh wasn’t a part of the list of 971 players who signed up for the auction. However, he was there in the list of 24 additional players who were added to the list only after getting requested by the franchises.
Apart from Mushfiqur, other noticeable names to make it to the auction includes the likes of Kesrick Williams, Adam Zampa and Dan Christian.
It is no secret that the 32-year old cricketer is one of the most improved cricketers in the word. Carrying an experience of 177 T20 games, the dexterous batsman has over 3500 runs, whilst maintaining an impressive average of 26.67 and strike-rate of 126.88. Moreover, his ability to play spin well makes him a strong contender to be picked for IPL 2020.
