India’s premier fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the ODI series against the West Indies courtesy injury woes. The right-arm fast bowler has sustained a groin injury and now he won’t be able to take part in the 3-match ODI series starting from 15th December 2019.
With Navdeep Saini not completely match-fit, and Khaleel Ahmed being a disappointment despite multiple opportunities at the international level, selectors have gone back to Shardul Thakur of Mumbai. Thakur himself has been in and out of the team since the time he first played for India in 2017.
India had earlier replaced opener Shikhar Dhawan with Mayank Agarwal and now the latest injury of Bhuvneshwar will be a setback to the Virat Kohli-led side which is also missing ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
