One of the greatest wicketkeepers to play the game, Mark Boucher is all set to become the new South African coach according to reports. Boucher is expected to be named in the role by Graeme Smith in a press conference later this week.
The 43-year-old will be involved in the coaching position temporarily and will be working alongside Enoch Nkwe, who is going to serve as his assistant.
The impending appointment of Boucher comes days after Smith was roped in as the interim director of cricket for South Africa for three months.
Boucher, who has played in 467 international games for the Proteas across formats, will take over the role at a time when a number of crises are disrupting South African cricket. He has plenty of coaching experience under his belt, having been at the helm of affairs for the domestic side Titans over the past four years.
