Former West Indies pacer Krishmar Santokie is currently engaged in a stint with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Sylhet Thunder in the ongoing tournament. Having played two games for his side thus far, the 34-year-old has caused plenty of controversy for bowling a massive no-ball during one of the fixtures.
The contentious action took place during the opening over of Sylhet’s game against Chattogram Challengers where he bowled a very wayward wide delivery down the leg-side and two balls later, overstepped the front crease by a huge margin.
His actions have attracted an investigation by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to see if there was any wrongdoing involved or if it was an unintentional error.
"The no-ball that he bowled is suspicious. He [Santokie] is not yet called by the BCB but I have lodged my complaint. I verbally requested CEO and Morshed [BCB anti-corruption head] to investigate the matter,” Sylhet Thunder team director Tanjil Chowdhury told reporters.
