Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen had earlier suggested the changes South Africa cricket needed to make in order to resolve its compounding crises. Cricket South Africa (CSA) has, in recent times, arrived at an impasse where problems in the administration are coupled with dreadful performances on the field.
Amidst this backdrop, Pietersen had asked for sweeping changes at the top and among the coaching staff. Interestingly, most of his suggestions are being fulfilled depicting the shrewd solutions laid down by the flamboyant batter.
CSA has already appointed Jacques Faul as acting CEO, Graeme Smith as acting director of cricket and expected to announce Mark Boucher as coach and Jacques Kallis as batting consultant, ticking off four of Pietersen’s six suggestions.
